One thing about living in Santa Clara I never could stomach, all the damn vampires.

True Stories. What a film. I am not the only one that thinks it is quite Lynchian … though perhaps with a brighter worldview.

Perhaps.

True Stories

1986

David Byrne

I have this movie on DVD. Wish it was in Wide-Screen. Actually, I would buy it all over again if they released it on Blu-Ray. It’s a very beautiful movie to look at and it would be even greater on BluRay. Shocked David Byrne hasn’t directed another movie since then.

“How a major studio allowed such a vehemently odd movie to exist really is a mystery. Its outlandishness isn’t forced; it’s forceful. This is a film that expands a singular style of humor into an entire worldview, a physics as vast as the Force in Star Wars.”

This has come up on my dash several times, and every time, for a split second, I think, “Why are there ceramic bananas with faces??” And then I remember what they actually are.

I adore this film, even though JGL in this haircut reminds me of an evil ex whom I hate more than the eventual heat-death of the universe.
