Marcelo Bordese

Thought for a sec this was William Blake (whose paintings are among the inspirations for Silent Hill).

"They look like Monsters to you?" — Vincent, Silent Hill 3

My favorite line in the entire franchise.

A Letter From Silent Heaven (Silent Hill 2 recreated in Minecraft) [MC ver 1.7.2]

Silent Hill 2, recreated quite beautifully in Minecraft!

It’s … it’s stunning. Hours of gameplay. Save points. Resource pack that includes amazing textures and sounds. Command-block functions that really make Silent Hill work in Minecraft.

And doors with broken locks, ha ha.

"What then is “horror”? Well, to me, “horror” is when it crosses into our personal space. When that place which is our own personal space, our pure sanctuary, is invaded by the impure and the external –that is when horror happens. The boogeyman in the night is “fear”, the boogeyman under your bed or in your closet is “horror”. Seeing a person with a twisted stump of a hand pumping blood is “fear”, seeing your own is “horror”. Seeing a maggot crawling on a lump of meat is “fear”, seeing one crawl out of your infected wound is “horror”. So many great filmmakers, writers and game creators understood this. Stephen King with his “shitweasels” in “Dream Catcher; David Cronenburg and his twisted transformed bodies; Silent Hill 4: The Room using the concept of invading personal space. The list is endless. To summarize, a killer with a knife, machete or chainsaw that is about to break down your door is fright. Finding that the killer is already in your home is horror. Discovering that the killer is actually you? That is psychological horror."

"I don’t want to appear rude or impolite, but do you have any I.D., before we begin?"

"How’s that?"

Those fans. Silent Hill and Twin Peaks and Angel Heart.

Angel Heart (1987), directed by Alan Parker, and starring Mickey Rourke, Robert De Niro, and Lisa Bonet. Adapted from the novel Falling Angel by William Hjortsberg

"If you’re frightened of dying and you’re holding on, you’ll see devils tearing your life away. If you’ve made your peace, then the devils are really angels freeing you from the earth."

I think the revelation scene near the end of Silent Hill 2 is inspired by this moment.

Jacob’s Ladder (1990) directed by Adrian Lyne, based on a screenplay by Bruce Joel Rubin and starring Tim Robbins, Elizabeth Peña, and Danny Aiello.

"The man I learned to love Silent Hill with has died, and the game always reminds me what being loved was like. We used to take turns playing and watching, with the lights out."
Silent Hill Confessions.

Silent Hill 3's Robbie the Rabbit costume head for auction.
koisnake:

I am in need of a computer since I wasn’t able to bring my family computer when I moved out. So, I’m selling my Robbie the Rabbit head from Silent Hill on eBay (I plan on remaking him). I’m getting tired of using my phone for everything, lol. That and I really want to do digital art work again.

If you could be so kind as to help spread the word around, it would be much appreciated! I really need a computer, haha! Thanks!

The Bergen Street subway station. This should look very familiar to Silent Hill fans.

Jacob’s Ladder (1990) directed by Adrian Lyne, based on a screenplay by Bruce Joel Rubin and starring Tim Robbins, Elizabeth Peña, and Danny Aiello.

Two posters on the train:

New York may be a crazy town, but you’ll never die of boredom! Enjoy! (The Big Apple)

and

HELL

That’s what life can be, doing drugs. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Help is available, day or night. Call the drug hotline: 246-9300

The “HELL” poster can be seen in the Silent Hill subway in Silent Hill 3 (I think it was 3: this whole subway sequence should look familiar to Silent Hill fans).
