Draw Lynch

Me and a few other people were talking at the end of last year about doing a Lynch based zine of some kind, but for whatever reason it wasn’t able to happen. Instead I thought I’d do #DrawLynch and then maybe material for a zine could be taken from that.

So the idea is that you can do a portrait of Lynch or take inspiration from any of the various projects he’s undertaken as long as Lynch is in there somewhere.

So either email me at jamesmrhoward@gmail.com or post your entry on twitter with the hashtag #DrawLynch preferably copying me in to the tweet.

It’ll run till the end of Feb, get drawing!

Theresa Banks. I like the detail of her face being off-kilter. I have stood at a few deathbeds, and what I remember most is that the face and neck look weird when the muscles go. TV/Movie corpses always look so composed and symmetrical.

OMG, got a minute to scare?: David Lynch's 45 second film [!! omg blog !!]

David Lynch’s Blue Velvet and Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining are definitely the two films I hold in highest regard — both for a high level of crafting and for an evocativeness that is unparalleled.

I feel like there must exist a third film somewhere that mates them somehow. I must find it or make it.
